Art Marketing and Promotion on the Internet
How many times have you heard
this cliché "Its Location, Location, Location. Well this is true of your
website. Unless, your name is "Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, or Norman
Rockwell" odds are that your website will not be easily found.
So the universal questions are:
1)- "So why can't I be found, and what can be done to
improve my ranking and visibility?"
2)- "How do I know how many visitors found and viewed my website?".
3)- "Where can I find out how these visitors found my website?"
The answer is not simple and we can help in subsequent discussions.
Many
art related websites are designed and implemented by the Artist, Gallery Owner,
or Art organization or out sourced to web designers. The normal
concept within the design, is obvious in making it visually and artistically
appealing and alluring to the visitor. This is very important as we know "The first
impression is the lasting impression."
Now, what most website designers fail to consider or implement is making "The
first impression the lasting impression with the major Search Engines." In
essence assuring the Artist, Gallery, or Art Organization that the site and all
its content pages are "Search Engine Friendly"
The quickest way to get a general sense of how Google evaluates and ranks your
website is to install their "Tool Bar." When installed and viewing your
website look for the "Page Ranking green bar, and when your cursor is placed
upon that bar graph its will tell you the numeric value of your website, as in
this example (3/10). The higher the numeric value the higher positioning when
your site is listed from a keyword query that relates to your website.

This toolbar is Mac friendly and Requires Mac OS X 10.2+ with Firefox 2.0+. PC
users have no compatibility issues with the installation of this feature. You
